  • Red Rock Canyon Marathon, 1/2 Marathon & 5K

    Majestically framing the west side of the valley, Red Rock Canyon is the most notable natural treasure among the Las Vegas community. A Mecca for runners, hikers, cyclists, climbers and tourists, Red Rock's color palette will enchant you while you run this challenging course. Burros, rabbits, and  joshua trees augment the canyon scenery for a breathtaking experience.

    This spectacularly scenic course is not to be missed. Being at about 4500-7000 foot elevation (depending on race distance) and underneath the National Forest, we can enjoy cooler temperatures. All are gorgeous and only a short drive to Las Vegas!

    A BLUE MOON only comes around every "once in a blue moon" and so does this event! A special addition to the Calico Racing 2015 line up of events, this one is sure to be a fun time!

    Running along the fringe of the mysterious Area 51, this stretch of highway (375) has an overwhelming number of reported UFO sightings. So much so, that in 1996 the federal government officially named highway 375 the "Extraterrestrial Highway". The ET Highway has become a gathering place for UFO enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. With elevations ranging from roughly 4000-5600 feet, the high desert will enchant you with gorgeous vegetation, surrounding mountains, and stunning vistas. An additional treat is the cooler temperatures. Rachel, NV is generally 15 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas Valley; coupled with a midnight run, temperatures should be in the 60's in August!

    Come experience Red Rock Canyon under the moonlight and stars! Enjoy the sunset over the sandstone cliffs as you run this gorgeous course.  This promises to be a magical event!

    5K, 10K, 1/2, Marathon, 50K, 50 Mile & 100 Mile

    Back by popular demand, and reincarnated at a new venue to bring you a new challenge!

    Pure Mojave Desert running at its finest! Come join us on this PAVED and scenic course which covers rolling terrain.

    Commencing at an elevation of roughly 4500 feet, runners will experience high desert vegetation to include Joshua Trees, Pinion-Juniper, Mountain Rose, Sagebrush, and a relatively lush Toiyabe National Forest not commonly associated with Las Vegas. The road twists and turns thru the canyon; a true treasure of the Spring Mountains N.R.A. enjoying temperatures ~10 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas Valley.

    Still an extreme heat race, expect daytime highs ~95- 100 degrees and overnight lows ~75. On course provisions will help keep you cool!
