COURSE(S):

All races start and finish at Equestrian Park South in Henderson, NV and run along the paved River Mountains Loop Trail, completely removed from vehicular traffic.

September 14: Avg Daytime high= 95 degrees (late afternnon)/ Avg Overnight low= 72 degrees

  •  5K: Start at Equestrian Park western most loop, stay on the southern side of the loops, running out 1.55 miles, turn around and come back via the northern side of the loops. Finishing in the same spot. This course is a slight climb to the turn around and a slight decent inbound.
  • 10K: Start at Equestrian Park western most loop, stay on the southern side of the loops, running out 3.1 miles, turn around and come back via the northern side of the loops. Finishing in the same spot. This course is a slight climb out to the 5K turn around; continuing straight it is a slight decent to the turn around; climbing back slightly miles 3.1- 4.5; then a slight decent into the finish.
  • 1/2 Marathon: Start at Equestrian Park western most loop, stay on the southern side of the loops, running out 6.55 miles (along Lake Mead Parkway at red covered rest area near tunnel under parkway), turn around and come back via the northern side of the loops. Finishing in the same spot. This course is a slight climb to mile 1.5, slight decent to mile 4.55; then you get into the hilly section with several short and steeper climbs and decents out and back; with a slight downhill finish.
  • Marathon: Start at Equestrian Park western most loop, stay on the southern side of the loops, running out 6.55 miles (along Lake Mead Parkway at red covered rest area near tunnel under parkway), turn around and come back via the northern side of the loops. The marathon makes 2 loops of the half marathon course. Finishing in the same spot. This course is a slight climb to mile 1.5, slight decent to mile 4.55; then you get into the hilly section with several short and steeper climbs and decents out and back; with a slight downhill to the finish of lap 1; repeat. Yup- the hills feel like they grow on the second lap, best to pace yourself accordingly.
  • 50 Miler: Start at Equestrian Park western most loop, stay on the southern side of the loops, running out 6.55 miles (along Lake Mead Parkway at red covered rest area near tunnel under parkway), turn around and come back via the northern side of the loops. The 50 miler makes 3 complete loops of the half marathon course. They then do a 4th shorter lap turning around 5.35 miles out, turning around and finishing in the same spot. This course is a slight climb to mile 1.5, slight decent to mile 4.55; then you get into the hilly section with several short and steeper climbs and decents out and back; with a slight downhill to the finish of lap 1; repeat. Yup- the hills feel like they grow on subsequent laps, best to pace yourself accordingly. 12 Hour Cut Off.
