HOTELS

With many different appetites for hotels, for this race I have chosen to not have a host hotel, but rather suggest a number of hotels that are most convenient to Lovell Canyon. You can book your rooms directly with the hotels. Note: there no hotels close to Lovell Canyon, so the hotels listed here are mostly in the Greater Las Vegas Valley.

Camping is available at the race venue. It is primitive and there are no facilities. For more information please search on the web under Spring Mountains N.R.A. and Lovell Canyon.

Camping is also available at Red Rock Canyon Campground.

Group Block NOT YET OPEN for 2013: Red Rock Resort is about 20 minutes drive from the Strip and Las Vegas Airport. This luxury hotel ROCKS. A block of rooms has been held for the race for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights at $130 per night ($115 room + $15 required resort fee) + tax. To book your room click on the hotel logo above, or call the hotel directly at (866) 767-7773 and follow the prompts to reservations. Tell them you are with the "Labor of Love Races 2011".  You may need group code "RCICAL OR CALICO". Rooms will be held until March 21st, so book early!

**Note: Red Rock Resort is about 30 miles to Lovell Canyon, on the Northwest side of town! To get there: Depart Red Rock Resort heading WEST on CHARLESTON/ Highway 159. Go about 15 miles, passing Red Rock Canyon, until you get to the junction of Highways 159 and 160. Go RIGHT on Highway 160 heading WEST toward Pahrump. Then follow the directions on the "Directions" page. Plan on 35-40 minutes drive.

HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS AND SUITES: 6220 S. Rainbow Blvd/ Las Vegas; (702) 871-4453. This is likely the closest hotel to the race start/ finish, about 18 miles away, and conveniently located just off the I-215 Freeway. It is NOT in the middle of the Strip action, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. I suggest carbo loading at "3 Tomatoes and a Mozzarrella" across the street (6485 S. Rainbow) open Friday/ Saturday 11am- 2am; Sunday- Thursday 11am- 10pm.  There is also a Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, Chinese, Thai, Smoothies, etc.

* I tried to get a group rate at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, but it was not as competetive as what is available online. I suggest booking thru Travelocity.com for the best rates.

HOTELS ON THE STRIP: I suggest chosing one on the south end of the strip to be closest to Lovell Canyon.  A few suggestions are:

HOTELS OFF STRIP IN THE SOUTH VALLEY: (tend to be more budget friendly)

OTHERS:

  • Coast Casinos (several properties throughout the valley)
  • Bonnie Springs: for a Wild West feel away from The Strip. This is actually one of the closest hotels: approx. 21 miles to Lovell Canyon
  • Stations Casinos (several properties throughout the valley. Try Red Rock Station Casino for true pampering approx. 32 miles to Lovell Canyon.)
