About the River Mountains Loop Trail:
Planning for the Loop Trail began in 1996 when a group of community interests, individuals, and agencies came together to talk about trails and local needs. This collective shared a common goal- expanding trail opportunities for the benefit of local residents and visitors to the area. The River Mountains Loop Trail, once completed will be roughly 35 miles in length. It will surround the River Mountains connecting Lake Mead N.R.A., Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Henderson, and the rest of the Las Vegas Valley. Offering close-to-home recreational opportunities will enhance the quality of life for and offer alternative transportation venues to outdoor enthusiasts of all ages.
Over a decade in the making, much of the River Mountains Loop Trail is now available for use. While we anxiously await the continued progress of the project- the Mardi Gras Masquerade 5K and 10K races will showcase some of the progress made thus far.
